Vilhelm Gunnarsson hefur starfað sem ljósmyndari á Fréttablaðinu síðan 2003 og myndað marga merkisatburði í sögu þjóðarinnar. Hann hefur víða farið í starfi sínu og séð margt en aldrei neitt í líkingu við gosið í Eyjafjallajökli. Hér birtist úrval mynda hans af sjónarspilinu kringum eldsumbrotin í Eyjafjallajökli vorið 2010 og því sem gerðist í raun og veru. Vilhelm leggur mesta áherslu á frétta- og landslagsmyndir og hafa myndir hans birst í dagblöðum, tímaritum og sjónvarpi um allan heim. Hann hefur tekið þátt í fjölda ljósmyndasýninga og hlotið viðurkenningar fyrir verk sín. Ásamt störfum sínum á Fréttablaðinu rekur Vilhelm útgáfufyrirtækið VG myndir sem gefur út póstkort og dagatöl. In this book his photos present a dramatic and startling look at the events of spring 2010. Vilhelm specializes in journalistic and landscape photographs and his pictures have been published in newspapers, magazines and on TV all over the world. He has participated in numerous photo exhibitions and received much acclaim for his work. Along with his job at Fréttablaðið, Vilhelm runs the publishing company VG Pictures, which produces postcards and calendars. Iceland on Fire is his first book.
